Poppy

We planted oriental and corn poppies in the kitchen garden.

Poppy and agrostemma in a raised bed were shining in the morning of early May (below).

Poppies are still blooming there and at the lower entrance of our garden.  The left iron gate leads to steps to the main garden, and the right wooden gate to kitchen garden.

  1. Your kitchen garden is so attractive, and does look very English! The glass frames are very unusual.
I don't see a 'follower' button on your page?

  2. I've found my way here via Elizabeth's blog (your first commenter today). You have a truly lovely garden. I'm into planting flowers and vegetables together and I am especially envious of your kitchen garden.

  4. In 2012, we saw lovely kitchen gardens in Cotswolds. Since then we have made this kitchen garden. The pentagonal frame is my original design. In summer they are covered with fine stainless mesh.

  5. I found my way here via Elizabeth's blog (your first commenter). What a glorious bit of heaven you are creating in your garden. The Pierre de Ronsard roses are stunning.I want to look for them to grow here in on Vancouver Island (Canada).
I also find your blog names very witty - I love reading Agatha Christie.
