THE HARVEST MOON

It was a very fine day today, and the full moon is rising from the east.

We enjoyed looking the harvest moon and eating tsukimi dango (moon-viewing dumplings) with friends in our neighbourhood.  It's an old custom in Japan.

  1. I understand you have a proverb which translates as "dumplings rather than flowers" meaning as I understand a preference for practical things rather than beauty. I hope you will continue to give high priority to the beauty of your garden, despite enjoying your dumplings!
