Two kinds of salvia is in bloom in the terraced herb beds now.

Salvia guaranitica is erroneously called 'meadow sage' in Japan.   Its leaves have a fresh mint green color, and a distinct scent.  It spreads very vigorously through its spreading roots, and repeatedly flowers after cutting short.

Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna' is noted for its vivid indigo flowers along deep purple-black stems and it looks stunning.  This season, borage had grown too large and it disturbed growth of the salvia.

A beautiful May is over today, and a rainy season will come soon.
