beside a tall tree (Castanopsis).
It had climbed up to the top of the tree,
and had been bearing many flowers in summer.
We fell the tree in February 2016,
and the the trumpet vine has been standing alone since that.
It is quite vigorous and many shoots has grown continuously,
and now it is flowering splendidly.
The contrast of its red colour with a light lavender colour
of chaste tree flowers looks nice.
Sunny hot days are continuing in the western part of Japan,
and we must water our gardens every evening.
