In March, rocket-shaped shoots grow gnarled out of the soil. Those who have never seen them before are a little surprised at their odd shape.
The tip splits a little and folded leaves grow out from inside. Two leaves consisting of three small lobes with pointed tips then spread out. From the base of these two leaves, oddly shaped flowers emerge.
