A BRILLIANT TIME OF THE POTAGER (ポタジェが輝くとき: 動画つき) WITH A VIDEO CLIP

It is a season of brilliance for gardens now,
and the gardens looks so stunning in the morning sunshine. 

We walk round our gardens every morning and find beautiful scenes
here and there. 

In the potager, some flowers such as California poppy are still asleep,
however, we are wakened by the other vivid flowers.
It's really a brilliant time for us, too. 

今は庭が輝く季節、
朝日の中の庭は格別です.
毎朝庭をまわりますが、そこここで美しい風景に出会います.
ポタジェではカリフォルニアポピーなどは朝はまだ寝ていますが
他の生き生きとした花たちに目をさまされます.
私たちにとっても本当に輝く時間です.

WE MET HARRY THE SCARECROW IN THE GARDEN OF OUR GARDENING FRIEND (庭友のお庭訪問、ついに会えたハリー君)

Today I post photographs of the garden
of our gardening friend in Aichi Prefectrure, which we visited last week.
She has been making a stunning English-style gardens by herself
for a long time.  She grows a number of varieties of roses. 

She is very good at tole painting,
and we saw some of paintings in the garden.

先週訪ねた愛知県の庭友達の庭の写真を今日は載せます. 

彼女は素晴らしいイングリッシュスタイルの庭をずっと自分で作ってきました.

たくさんのバラの品種を育てています.

トールペイントの腕前も素晴らしく、庭でもいくつか見ることができました.

There were Cotswold dry stone walls in her garden, 

which made the garden quite stunning.  

コッツウォルズストーンを使ったドライストーンウォールがあり、

庭を素晴らしくしています.

She had made a new rose tunnel with several varieties of climbing roses. 

The roses are vigorously growing their new leaves. 

新しいバラのトンネルができていて、幾種類かのツルバラが植えられ

新しい葉を旺盛に伸ばしていました.

The light blue wooden bench is a good focal point at the end of lawn. 

水色の木のベンチが芝生の端でよいフォー刈るポイントになっています.

A tole paint in the hedge looks cute. 

生垣の中に置かれたトールペイント、とっても可愛いです

At the far end of the garden, a weeping cherry was in full bloom.  

庭の端っこにはしだれ桜が満開

We saw a scarecrow in her blog several years ago, 

and its photo was published in the gardening magazine 'Bises'. 

It is named Harry, and we at last met him for the first time. 

His cloths was worn out, but he is still working. 

何年か前に彼女のブログで案山子をみて、

園芸雑誌のビズに掲載された写真も見ていました.

名前はハリー君ですが、ついに初めて彼に会うことができました.

彼の服は擦り切れていますが、まだまだ現役です. 

I and she won the top two prizes of BISES photo gallery 2017. 

The crown-shaped pin broach and the key-shaped one came across in her garden. 

私と彼女は昨年のビズのフォトギャラリーで上位２人に入りました.
王冠形と鍵形のピンブローチが彼女の庭で出会いました.

WE ARE WAITING FOR VISITORS TO OPEN GARDEN (オープンガーデンにお待ちしています)

In the potager MIchel is waiting  for visitors to welcome, 

and a sleeping angel is waiting too at the gazebo window in the main garden.

Open Garden for Charity

The weather of this spring was generally calm and warm.  Roses bloomed a little bit earlier than the last year.  

This photo was taken on 18th May, when we open our garden for charity as one of the gardens  authorized by NGS Japan.

More than 100 people visited our garden.  It was a sunny and nice day.

Rosa 'Angela' (pink), 'Snow Goose' (white), 'Paul's Himalayan Musk' (light pink)

　　　　　

Yellow flowers are Rosa 'Teasing Georgia' and orange 'Crown Princess Margareta'

　　　　　

The picture below is the kitchen garden (potager) with many flowers.  There are espalier apple trees and a grapevine, which are bearing small fruits. Michel, a tiny scarecrow, is keeping a good lookout for vegetables (potato, celery, chard, lettuce, etc.).  

Poppy, foxglove, campanula, agrostemma, white silene...
