Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

A BRILLIANT TIME OF MAIN GARDEN (主庭が輝くとき: 動画つき) WITH VIDEO CLIPs

It is really a wonderful season for our gardens,
and the main garden is filled with roses, foxglove and beautiful leaves.

A hundred visitors enjoyed our gardens, especially the main garden,
sitting on chairs, benches and an arbour seat,
taking photographs and listening birds' songs.

今は本当に庭の素晴らしい季節で
メインガーデンはバラやジギタリス、美しい若葉で満ちています.
たくさんの方が庭を訪れていただいて、特にメインガーデンで
イスやベンチ、アーバーシートに掛けて写真を撮ったり
鳥の声を聞いたりして楽しまれました.

FLOWERS OF VARIOUS COLOURS (色とりどりの花々)

Many kinds of flowers are in bloom now in the main garden.
Everyday there are new findings, and it is exiting to go round.

In the central flower bed, there are white, blue, purple and pink colours.

たくさんの花が主庭には今咲いています.

毎日新しい発見があり、庭を回るとわくわくします.

中央花壇には白、青、紫、そしてピンクの色が見えます.

Roses on the arch and beside sleeper steps bear fresh leaves,

and some of them have small flower buds.

アーチの上や枕木の階段の脇のバラたちは若葉を伸ばし

中には小さな花芽をつけたものもあります.

Tree peonies bear flower buds, which is about to bloom.

ボタンの蕾は今にも咲きだしそうです

Bulbous plants are flowering in the border beside plum and prune;

yellow and purple freesia and sparaxis.

One of hosta has started to grow beautiful leaves.

スモモとプルーンの花壇には球根植物の
黄色と紫のフリージアやスイセンアヤメが咲き
ギボウシの一つも美しい葉を伸ばしています.

FLOWERS IN OUR GARDENS IN EARLY MARCH (三月初めに庭で咲く花々)

I walked round in our gardens early morning today,
and counted the number of flowers in bloom.
There were 25 kinds of flowers,
and I post pictures of all flowers.

今朝早く庭を歩いて回り、
今咲いている花の種類を数えてみました.
全部で25種類で
写真で紹介します.
