COLLECTING SEEDS OF ASPERULA AND ECHIUM VULGARE (アスペルラとエキウムブルガレの種とり)

 

At the beginning of last month, I cut down the Asperula and Echium vulgare in the potager, and I collected seeds from the flower petals. 

The Asperula has about 10 small round seeds on each seedhead, and they fall out when you loosen the petals. 

今月初めにポタジェのアスペルラとエキウムブルガレを切りましたが、花がらから種を採りました. 

アスペルラは小さな丸い種が一つの花に10個ぐらいついていて、花がらをほぐすとぽろぽろ落ちてきます. 

The Echium has four little whitish seeds on each seedhead, which I collected. 

エキウムは花がらに4個ずつ少し白っぽい種ができていて、これを採取しました. 

I will sow the seeds when autumn comes. 

夏が終わったら種まきです.

SEEDS OF ASPERULA AND ECHIUM VULGARE(アスペルラとエキウムブルガレの種)

 

The Asperula and Echium vulgare that first bloomed in the potager have given the garden a beautiful blue color, but their blooms are coming to an end. 

I've already planted seedlings to grow dwarf tomatoes next, but I've left them for a while to collect seeds from these flowers. 

When I examined the seedheads, I found that Echium vulgare has hard, mature seeds. On the other hand, the Asperula has seeds, but they are still green. 

I decided to cut the asperla as well as the echium for the tomatoes to grow. 

Raised beds look neat. 

Most of the flowers of the foxglove in the border flower bed are over, and I'm collecting seeds from those that have formed.

ポタジェに初めて咲いたアスペルラとエキウムブルガレは美しい青色で庭を彩ってくれましたが、その花もそろそろ終わろうとしています. 

次に矮性トマトを育てるようにすでに苗を植え付けていますが、これらの花の種を採るためにしばらくそのままにしていました. 

花がらを調べてみると、エキウムブルガレは硬い成熟した種をつけています. 一方、アスペルラも種をつけていますが、まだ緑色です. 

トマトの成長のためにエキウムだけでなく、アスペルラも刈り取ることにしました. 

レイズドベッドがすっきりしました.

ボーダー花壇のキツネノテブクロの花もほとんど終わって、種のできたものから種を集めています.

POTAGER THIS MORNING (今朝のポタジェ)

 

It was a beautiful, cloudless day this morning and I took a walk in the garden at sunrise. The ornamental kitchen garden (potager) is having a great season right now. The blue flowers, Asperula and Echium vulgare, which I tried to grow in the raised beds for the first time, bloomed very nicely and made a beautiful landscape. 今朝は雲一つない素晴らしい天気で、日の出の時刻に庭を散策しました. 今、ポタジェは最高の季節を迎えています. 初めてレイズドベッドに育ててみた青い花、アスペルラとエキウムブルガレもとても綺麗い咲いてくれて、美しい景観を作ってくれました. 今朝撮影した写真とともに、動画を是非ご覧ください.

BLUE FLOWERS IN THE POTAGER (ポタジェの青い花々)

 

Blue flowers are in full bloom on the triangular and rectangular raised beds of the potager. We change the planting plan here almost every year. We planted leafy greens, potatoes, and lavender, but this year it's blue flowers. 

ポタジェの三角形と四角形のレイズドベッドに青い花が満開になっています. ここの植栽計画はほぼ毎年変えています. 葉野菜やジャガイモを植えたり、ラベンダーを植えたりしましたが、今年は青い花です. 

Two kinds of annuals are blooming in abundance. 
2種類の一年草がたくさん花をつけています. 

One is Asperula orientalis. 
一つはアスペルラです. 

The other is Echium vulgare.  
もう一つはエキウムブルガレです.

PLANTING SEEDLINGS OF SPRING-FLOWERING PLANTS (春咲き植物の苗の植付け)

 

I recently planted some seedlings of spring blooming plants in the potager for April and May; Echium vulgare, asperula and corn poppy.  First two were planted in the raised beds, and the last one was planted in the border and the dahlia bed.  I can't wait for spring when the blue and red flowers bloom!

4月から5月の春咲き植物の苗をポタジェに最近植え付けました. エキウムブルガレ、アスペルラ、そしてヒナゲシです.  最初の二つはレイズドベッドに、最後のはボーダーとダリアの花壇に植えました.  青い花と赤い花が咲く季節が待ち遠しいです.

FLOWER SEEDLINGS (花の実生苗)

 

We are growing two blue flowers from seeds.  

We grow them for the first time in our garden.

種から二種類の青い花を今育てています.

うちの庭で育てるのは初めてです.

The first one is Asperula orientalis (oriental woodruff). It is planned to grow in raised beds of the potager.  It flowers in April and May, I suppose. 

一つはアスペルラで、ポタジェのレイズドベッドに植える予定です.　多分四月から五月に咲くと思います.

The other is Echium vulgare 'Blue Bedder'.  It is planned to grow in the central flower bed in the main garden. 

もう一つはエキウムのブルーベッダーで、メインガーデンの中央花壇に植えるつもりです.
