Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

WHITE HAIRY LARVAE OF BLACK PSEUDO-BUTTERFLY

There were white hairy larvae on the underside of the tree (Benthamidia japonica).

It is quite difficult to determine which side is a head or tail. It is a larva of a black butterfly-like moth. It is unimaginable that this white larva become a black 'butterfly'.

Tour of France 2014 finished this morning, and Italy's Vincenzo Nibali won.

I broke my own record of 180 kCal during 30 minute-aerobike training machine several days ago when I was watching the race.

TOUR DE FRANCE

We bought road bikes for beginners several years ago, but we seldom ride nowadays.
Instead, we have ridden on a exercise bike in our house for fitness.
When I started to ride on it, pedaling within doors was very boring, and I got tired immediately.
In order to ride enjoyably, I moved the bike to the front of a TV.
I tried various TV programmes, and had finally found that bicycle racing programmes are best for cheering me up while pedaling the bike. Up to now, I have recorded many those programmes to a hard disc of TV.

Last week le tour de France 2014 has began, and I have been recording programmes on satellite TV everyday.

At the stage 1, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, attended at the Grand Depart in Leeds.

I like those programmes because I can see the nice sceneries of rural areas of England and France, and I have been enjoying pedaling the exercise bike. Thirty minutes of exercise passes in an instant.
