X-MAS PARTY OF FUKUOKA JAPAN-BRITISH SOCIETY (福岡日英協会クリスマス音楽の夕べ)

Christmas Concert & Friendship Party 2019 of the Fukuoka Japan-British Society was held last evening.

昨夜、福岡日英協会のクリスマス音楽の夕べが開催されました.


Christmas Concert 

Piano Mini-Concert (ピアノミニコンサート）

Ms. Mami Shikimori played five pieces of classic music including Chopin Nocturne (this is my favorite).
She was born in Fukuoka and lives in London.
She is in demand as a solo recitalist, chamber music player and concerto soloist ans she has performed in venues including New York's Carnegie Hall, London's Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Cadogan Hall, St. John's, Smith Square, Bridgewater Hall and Tokyo's Suntory Hall.

式守満美さんがショパンのノクターンなど5曲を演奏しました.
彼女は福岡生まれで英国在住のピアニストです.
ソロのリサイタリスト、室内楽の演奏、コンチェルトのソリストとして活躍され、
ニューヨークのカーネギーホールやロンドンのウィグモアホールなど
たくさんの会場で演奏されています。


Friendship Party

We enjoyed good food, drink and conversation.
At the end of the party we sang Jingle Bells together.

美味しい食べ物や飲み物、そしておしゃべりで楽しみました.
最後にジングルベルをみんなで歌いました.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT & FRIENDSHIP PARTY OF FUKUOKA JAPAN-BRITISH SOCIETY (福岡日英協会クリスマス音楽の夕べ)

The Christmas Concert & Friendship Party of the Fukuoka Japan-British Society was held yesterday night.

We joined the party and enjoyed Christmas musics, delicious food, a raffle and conversation with friends. 

福岡日英協会のクリスマス音楽の夕べが昨夜開催されました。
私たちもパーティーに参加して、クリスマスの音楽、おいしい食事、福引、そして
友人との会話を楽しみました。

GARDEN PARTY VIEWING CHERRY-BLOSSOM (花見のガーデンパーティー)

The cherry tree has become half in bloom this weekend, 

and it was sunny and warm in the day time today, 

we had a garden party viewing cherry-blossom

in our gardens. 

この週末、桜の木が五分咲きになり

昼間は日も射して暖かく、

庭で花見のガーデンパーティーを開きました. 

There are two cherry trees; 

one bears white blossom and another bears light pink one. 

庭には2本の桜の木があり、

一本は白い花、もう一本は淡いピンクの花です. 

The cherry with white blossom is

 between the main garden and the kitchen garden

and in front of the gazebo.  

白い花の桜はメインガーデンとポタジェの間、

ガゼボのすぐ前にあります. 

 Another cherry with light pink blossom is beside the new garden, 

from the top of which we can look at the blossom 

and the Mt. Fuji of Itoshima (Mt. Kaya).  

もう一本の淡いピンクの桜は新しい庭の横にあり、

新しい庭の一番上からは

桜の花と糸島富士（可也山）が見られます. 

Almost all of a dozen of guests were our neighbours
and we had a very good time, 

looking up cherry blossom and walking around 

looking at other flowers in the gardens
such as plum, tulips, muscari, acacia etc. 

今日の10数名のお客様はほとんどご近所の方たちで、

桜を見上げ、庭を歩き回ってチューリップやムスカリ、ミモザなどの花をみて、

楽しい時間をすごしました.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT & FRIENDSHIP PARTY OF FUKUOKA JAPAN-BRITISH SOCIETY (日英協会クリスマス音楽の夕べ)

The Christmas concert & friendship party was held
by the Fukuoka Japan-British Society yesterday night,
and we attended it.

クリスマス音楽の夕べが昨夜、福岡日英協会により開催されて
私たちも参加しました


In the Christmas concert of this year,
a vocal singer Koji Kimura, a member of the tribute band of the Beatles
'The Flying Elephants', sang popular Beatles' songs.
His role in the band is Paul McCartney, and he have been singing for fifty years. 

今年のクリスマスコンサートはビートルズのトリビュートバンドのボーカルである木村康治さんによる
ビートルズのヒットソングメドレーでした
彼のバンドでの役割はポール・マッカートニーで、すでに50年ぐらい歌っているそうです.

After the concert, we had a party.

We enjoyed delicious foods, beer and talks with friends. 

コンサートのあとは、パーティーで
美味しい食事やビール、そして友人との話を楽しみました.

A customary lottery of Christmas presents was also held, 

and I won a cute calendar this time. 

恒例のクリスマスプレゼント抽選会も行われて
今回は可愛いカレンダーが当たりました.

At the end of the party, all of the participants sang Jingle Bells.

パーティーの最後は参加者全員でジングルベルを合唱しました

Canal City Hakata, where the party was held, is now illuminated

and so beautiful at night.

CHRISTMAS PARTY OF FUKUOKA JAPAN-BRITISH SOCIETY （福岡日英協会クリスマスパーティー）

Yesterday evening, Christmas Concert & Friendship Party of the Fukuoka Japan-British Society was held at the hotel in Fukuoka City.

This year's Christmas concert was hand-bell musics performed by the hand-bell club of the local high school (Fukuoka Futaba-Gakuen).
They played several Christmas musics and we really enjoyed them.

福岡日英協会の「クリスマス音楽の夕べ」が福岡市のホテルで昨夜開催されました.

今年のクリスマスコンサートは福岡双葉中学・高等学校ハンドベル部の演奏でした.
何曲もクリスマスの音楽が演奏されて、とても楽しみました.

After the concert, we enjoyed a party,
 eating delicious foods, talking, drawing a lottery and singing Jingle Bell together.


コンサートのあとはパーティーです.
美味しい料理、おしゃべり、福引、そしてみんなでジングルベルを歌いました.

X-MAS MARKET IN FUKUOKA (博多駅前 のクリスマスマーケット)

A Christmas Market is being held, from 21st November to 25th December, in front of Hakata Station (Fukuoka, Japan) with European-style Christmas decorations, live musical performances, hot wine & festive foods!  The market is beautifully illuminated with 700 000 LED lightbulbs, and a 14m light tower.

A year-end party of my workplace was held last Saturday evening at the hotel near the Hakata Station.  I arrived there at the evening twilight time, and the LED illumination (Blue LED was invented by three Japanese Nobel-Prize winner this year) was unbelievably beautiful.

Because it was Saturday evening, so many people had come and enjoyed the illumination, live music, shopping, and eating.

I really enjoyed looking at the market, and listening a chorus.

At the end-year party, clinic staffs performed a musical of  "Frozen" (アナと雪の女王).  I had a really enjoyable time at the party.  I had got a present to my wife at the lottery; a pair of nice slippers!
