At the beginning of October, we started to frame the raised beds in the potager with metal siding panels, and we have also rebuilt the raised bed frames that had pentagonal vegetable frames, completing the rebuild that we had planned for this year. The panels were repainted in blue-grey rather than beige, as I thought blue-grey was still a better colour than beige.
The triangular raised beds already have healthy seedlings that will flower next season.
I am pondering what to grow in other raised beds.
10月の初めにポタジェのレイズドベッドの枠を金属製のサイディングパネルで作り始めましたが、五角形の野菜フレームのあったレイズドベッドの枠も作り替えて、今年予定していた作り替えを終えました。パネルの色はベージュよりブルーグレーがやはりよいと思って塗り替えました。
三角形のレイズドベッドではすでに来シーズンに花が咲く苗が元気に育っています。
他のレイズドベッドに何を育てるか思案中です。
The other day we visited Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki.
There are rose gardens on both sides in front of the Palace Huis Ten Bosch at the far end. One side is designed around a round pond, with lots of bush roses and climbing roses growing on arches on all four sides.
There were quite a few autumn roses in bloom.
先日、長崎のハウステンボスに行きました.
一番奥にあるパレスハウステンボスの手前の両側にバラ園があります. 片方は丸い池を中心としたデザインで、たくさんの木立バラと、四方のアーチにつるバラが育っています.
秋バラが結構咲いていました.

久しぶりにオフィスに秋バラの切り花を飾りました. 最初はメアリーローズとスキャボロフェアで、とてもオフィスの雰囲気が軟らかくなりました. でも、２，３日で散ってしまうのが難点です.
次はジェネラシオンジャルダンで、2009年にフランスのデルバール社で作出された品種で、花びらがしっかりしていて、花もちが長いのが特徴です.
The mornings and evenings are getting colder and the weather is turning into late autumn. The garden is gradually preparing for winter, but there are still plenty of flowers in bloom. The reddish-purple flowers of the small lantana, which are at their best at this time of year, and the buddleia, which have been in bloom since the summer.
朝晩は冷え込んできて晩秋の気候となってきました. 庭では少しずつ冬支度が始まっていますが、まだまだ花もたくさん咲いています. この時期が盛りのコバノランタナや、夏からずっと咲き続けているブッドレアは、いずれも赤紫色の花です.
