A few days ago, Marple (my wife) found a slug on a leaf of Swiss chard
in a fine-netted frame (used as a cold frame in winter) .
I reminded beer slug traps written in a certain English Magazine,
and placed three traps (small cups filled with beer)
in the frame.
Today, I found slugs in two out of three traps,
and I recognized its usefulness.
So, I made three more traps and placed them in another frame,
where seedlings of spinach and chard. are growing.
数日前、家内がネットをしたフレーム（冬はコールドフレームとして使用）の中の
スイスチャードの葉で一匹ナメクジを見つけました.
何かのイギリスの雑誌に書いてあったビールを使ったナメクジのワナを思い出し
このフレームの中に3個ワナを作って設置しました.
そして今日、3つのうちの2つのワナにナメクジが入って入るのを見つけ
確かに役に立つことを確かめました.
それで、ホウレンソウとチャードの苗を育てているもう一つのフレームにも
3つワナを作って設置しました.

I harvested Swiss chard, celery and leaf lettuce in the potager,
and enjoyed their good flavour at dinner.
スイスチャード、セロリ、リーフレタスを収穫して
夕食で美味しく頂きました.
