WALKING ALONG THE LOCAL BEACH (近くの海岸を散歩)

 

Nigi-no-hama is a 6-kilometer-long arch-shaped sandy beach, and has been selected as one of the 100 best beaches for white sand and green pines in Japan. On the beautiful coastline, which is crowded with surfers throughout the four seasons, the scene of the Mongolian invasion in the NHK historical drama "Hojo Tokimune" was filmed.  The beach is very close to our house, and one day of the last week I visited there and walk along the beach for a while because of beautiful weather except for the cold wind. 

In the fall of 2012, the coastal forest of Nigi-no-hama was devastated by the pine dieback.  All of the damaged trees were cut down, and the landscape was dramatically changed.  Since then, seedlings have been planted and young trees are growing.

幣の浜は、6キロメートルの長さの弓張形の砂浜で、日本の白砂青松100選にも選ばれています。四季を通じて多くのサーファーでにぎわう美しい海岸線では、NHK大河ドラマ「北条時宗」の蒙古襲来シーンの撮影も行われました。海岸は我が家のすぐ近くにあり、先週のある日、冷たい風が吹く以外は天気が良かったので、しばらく海岸を歩いてみました。

2012 年秋のマツ枯れにより幣の浜の海岸林は壊滅的被害を受け，被害木がすべて伐採されて景観が劇変しました．その後、苗木の植え付けが行われて、幼木が育ってきています。

On the sandy beach, Artemisia capillaris was showing its beautiful silver leaves in the cold of winter. 

砂浜にはカワラヨモギが冬の寒さの中で美しい銀葉を見せていました. 

A fence made of thin logs has been set up on the beach to block the wind.　I pray that the beautiful white sand and green pines of the coast will be restored.

砂浜には風を遮るために、細い丸太で作った柵が設置されています。

白砂青松の美しい海岸が再生されることを祈ります。

We take a walk almost every weekday morning,
and often find them on the road.
There are tall pine trees beside the road...

Yes, they are pinecones!
Cars run over them and they become flat.

平日の朝はたいてい散歩をしますが、
これを道路でよく見つけます.
道のそばには高い松の木々があります・・

そう、松かさです！
車が轢いてぺちゃんこになります.



They are useful to brush pots etc.

 植木鉢を洗ったりするのに役に立ちます.

PLANTING PINE PLANTS AT THE SEASHORE AND SURFERS IN WINTER (松原の植林と冬のサーファー)

There is many beautiful seashores in our area, 

and one of the best ones is Niginomatsubara, length of which is about three miles 

with a pine-tree belt for protecting fields from very strong north wind in winter. 

Several years ago, more than 90 percents of the pine trees 

died of pine wilt disease caused by pests called nematode worm.  

Everyone who lives were shocked by this astonishing event.  

Young pine plants have been planting since last year 

by the local government, and we expect the pine area restore in 20 or 30 years.  

私たちの地域にはたくさんの美しい海岸がありますが、

その中でももっとも美しい海岸の一つが幣（にぎ）の松原で、全長は5キロほどあり

冬の強い北風から地域を守るための松バラがあります.

数年前、この松の木の9割以上がセンチュウによる松枯れ病で枯れ、

誰もがこの驚くべき事件に衝撃を受けました.

昨年から松の苗木の植林が始まり

20年か30年後にはまた松原が復活することを期待しています. 

Very few pine trees survived.  

So many young plants are planting now.

I was surprise at men enjoying surfing in the very cold wind

Seashore

I often take a walk after lunch on weekdays in the neighborhood of my office.
The office locates between the sea and the hills.  Destination is depends on climate and mood of the day.
Yesterday I went to the seashore because the wind was not so strong and there was comfortable sunshine.


Among the windbreak pine trees, I found a tiny butterfly on the flower of wild chrysanthemum.

Going through the pine trees, the sea of Hakata Bay came into view.

The wind was comfortable and there was no one at the seashore.

Low waves was washing seaweeds to the shore.

This is a botanical art drawn by the waves.
Nature is a great artist, isn't it !!
