YELLOW COLOURS IN AUTUMN (秋の黄色)

 

It is now mid-November and the temperatures are the most comfortable of the year, with daytime temperatures exceeding 20°C (68°F) but morning and evening temperatures around 15°C (59°F). However, the temperature is still higher than normal.

In the garden, the yellow flowers of the leopard plant are blooming all at once here and there. The bright yellow colour brightens up the garden.

The quince is becoming more yellow and ripe.

Gardenia fruits are becoming increasingly coloured. They are often used as a yellow food colour.

11月も中旬になり、昼間は20℃を超えますが朝晩は15℃前後となって、一年で最も快適な気温になっています。ただ、平年よりはまだ高い気温です。

庭ではあちこちでいっせいにツワブキの黄色い花が開花しています。鮮やかな黄色は庭を明るくしてくれます。

カリンは黄色みが強くなってきてかなり熟してきています。

クチナシの実が色づいてきています。黄色の食紅としてよく使われます。

YELLOW FLOWERS IN LATE AUTUMN (晩秋の黄色い花々)

 

In the garden there are now yellow flowers everywhere: 

Leopard plant & Mexican marigold.

庭では今あちこちで黄色い花が咲き誇っています.

ツワブキとレモンマリゴールドです.

Leopard plant is an evergreen perennial plant with beautiful yellow flowers at this time of year. It is native to Japan and grows naturally here and there from seeds blown by the wind. It is in bloom here and there in our garden. I found a rare phenomenon of fusion of three flowers.

ツワブキはこの時期に美しい黄色の花をつける常緑性の多年草です. 日本の原産で、風で飛ばされた種からあちこちに自然に育ってきます. うちの庭でもあちこちで咲いています. 3つの花が癒合した珍しい現象も見つけました. 

The other is the perennial Mexican marigold, which grows into a fairly large plant with gradually woody stems. It has many yellow flowers with a slightly orange tinge in late autumn and early winter, deciduous in mid-winter and sprouts again in spring. 

もう一つは、多年草のレモンマリゴールドで、茎は次第に木質化してかなり大株に成長します. 晩秋から初冬にかけてややオレンジがかった黄色い花をたくさんつけて、真冬に落葉して、春にまた芽吹きます.

LEOPARD PLANT FLOWERS HERE AND THERE (あちこちでツワブキ開花)

 

It is late November and the mornings and evenings are getting colder in the garden. In the garden, the yellow flowers of the leopard plant are blooming here and there. The bright yellow petals and orange stamens are very cheerful. The days are getting shorter and the season is getting dreary, so it's good to have some cheerful flowers. 

11月も下旬になって、庭も朝晩は寒くなってきました. 庭ではツワブキの黄色い花があちこちで咲いています. 明るく鮮やかな黄色の花びらとオレンジ色のしべを見ると、何だか元気が出てきます. 日が短くなってさみしくなる季節、元気のでる花はいいですね.

PURPLE AND YELLOW IN AUTUMN (秋の紫と黄色)

 

Glory bush (nobotan) is a shrub with beautiful purple flowers in autumn. Occasionally it is attacked by larvae of Anoplophora malasiaca, which kill the branches, but each time they grow back from the roots. The flowers will be in full bloom for some time to come. 

ノボタンはとても美しい紫色の花を秋にさかせる低木です. ときどきテッポウムシが入って枝を枯らされますが、そのたびにまた根元から枝を伸ばして復活しています. いまからしばらくがこの花の見ごろです.
