Glory bush (nobotan) is a shrub with beautiful purple flowers in autumn. Occasionally it is attacked by larvae of Anoplophora malasiaca, which kill the branches, but each time they grow back from the roots. The flowers will be in full bloom for some time to come.
ノボタンはとても美しい紫色の花を秋にさかせる低木です. ときどきテッポウムシが入って枝を枯らされますが、そのたびにまた根元から枝を伸ばして復活しています. いまからしばらくがこの花の見ごろです.
Leopard plant is another perennial plant with beautiful yellow flowers at this time of year. It is native to Japan and grows naturally here and there from seeds blown by the wind. It is in bloom here and there in our garden.
ツワブキもこの時期に美しい黄色の花をつける多年草です. 日本の原産で、風で飛ばされた種からあちこちに自然に育ってきます. うちの庭でもあちこちで咲いています.
