Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

JAPANESE WHITE-EYES HAVE ARRIVED IN THE BOUNTIFUL GARDEN (実りの庭にメジロがやってきた)

Passing in front of the brick wall and walking through the Mube arch, you come to the bluebell garden. This year, the Mube arch has only two fruits, which are beginning to turn colour. Right next to it, a Leucophyllum tree has been producing a succession of lovely pink flowers for over a month. Looking up, you can see lots of quince fruits. Some of them are already turning slightly yellow. Harvest season is just around the corner. Whilst I was filming the quince, two Japanese white-eyes happened to arrive and were flitting from branch to branch. They are such lovely little birds.

レンガ塀の前を抜けて、ムベのアーチをくぐると、ブルーベルの庭です。ムベのアーチには今年は２個だけ実がついて、色づいてきています。そのすぐ横にはレウコフィルムの木にピンクの可愛い花が１か月以上にわたって次々と咲いています。上をみるとたくさんのカリンの実が見えます。少し黄色く色づいている実もあります。もうすぐ収穫の季節がやってきます。カリンの動画を撮影していたらちょうどメジロが２羽やってきて枝から枝へ渡っていました。とても可愛い小鳥です。
