My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc.
In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.
It's the middle of summer and it's been so hot that I haven't been able to do much work in the garden, so the garden has been mostly neglected, but there are blue and purple flowers everywhere in the main garden.
I went out in the evening when the sun was shading the garden and took these photos and movies.
Today I'm going to show you what the main garden looks like now . From the white fenced entrance, turn at the small fountain, down the sleeper steps, through the central flower beds to the shade garden, blue borders, bathtub pool and finally through the herb terraces to the brick wall.
The weather has been cloudy lately, with occasional showers. Sometimes there are thunderstorms.
最近は曇りがちの天気で、時々雨が降っています. 雷雨の時もあります.

In the garden, the dwarf crape myrtle has started to produce bright purple flowers. The orange colour of the rudbeckia flowers is also very vivid, and the contrast between the two colours looks very beautiful.
A white butterfly flew over the small purple flowers of the Lantana montevidensis. At this time of year, there are no cruciferous vegetables in our garden that the larvae of the butterfly like.
