My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc.
In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.
It has been warm for December recently, but there is a strong cold spell coming next week. In the garden, the blueberry leaves are turning red and beautiful. Also, the citrus fruits are turning yellow and harvest time is just around the corner.
We harvested 18 oranges 'Tosa Buntan', and ate one of them for the first time this season. It was a bit sour but tasted good.
We stored rest of them in basement.
They become much sweeter in weeks.
Tosa-Buntan is a kind of Citrus maxima,
which is mainly grown in Tosa area of Shikoku Island.
We planted a young plant in our garden in 2006,
and it bore fruits for the first time in last season.
We picked most of the fruits on new year's eve,
and stored them in a cool storage room.
Two months have passed since that,
and we made marmalade today.
It colour is light orange and tastes so good.

We went to KBC Cinema to watch the movie
'Victoria & Abdul', today.
It was released in Japan on 25th January,
and we at last went to the local theatre in Fukuoka.
Dame Judi Dench is our favourate actress,
and the episode of this movie was so interesting.
We highly recommend this movie.
