SEA KAYAKING & BIG ANGELICA (シーカヤックとハマウド)

I enjoyed sea kayaking this morning. 

It was the first time in a year and a half. 

I had got right shoulder periarthritis, and I couldn't paddle for a long time. 

However, this spring my shoulder pain has gone at last!

今日の午前中、シーカヤックを楽しみました.

1年半ぶりです.

長いこと右肩の五十肩でカヤックを漕げなかったのですが、

この春、ついに肩の痛みがなくなりました. 

I started from a sandy beach closest to our house, 

and went to the middle of bay, where the wind became much stronger, 

and I went back to the other beach of this side. 

家に一番近い砂浜から漕ぎ出し、

入り江の中央あたりまで漕いで、風が強くなったので

同じ側の別の浜まで戻りました. 

There was a big Angelica japonica growing just outside of the levee. 

It was about six feet high and bear flower heads. 

We planted this plant just outside of  the wooden fence several years ago, 

however, it is not so big, just about 4 feet high.  

Its leaves are large and shiny, 

and they are so beautiful from the end of winter to early summer. 

I like this plant. 

そこの堤防のすぐ外側に大きなハマウドが育っていました.

およそ２．４メートルほどの高さで、花の蕾をつけています.

ハマウドは数年前に私たちの庭の木製のフェンスの外側に植えていますが、

まだ高さは120センチほどです. 

その葉は大きくて光沢があり、冬の終わりから初夏までとても美しく

私の好きな植物です.

SEA KAYAK

Today is a national holiday in Japan, Keiro-no-hi (Respect-for-the-Aged Day Holiday; third Monday in September)

In the early morning, we went sea kayaking at the bay beneath our neighbourhood.  This is the first time we kayak together in two years.  

We departed the beach at 8:00 AM.  This is a tandem kayak.

Looking back to Mt.Itoshima-Fuji, the sun light was reflecting on the sea.  

Our whole neighbourhood can be seen from the kayak

In 40 minutes, we arrived to the opposite shore.  It's beautiful and comfortable private beach of this resort cottage area.

Returning back to the beach we departed.  It was a really nice kayaking.  

We carried the kayak on a two-wheeled cart to our car parked beside a road.
