Today is a national holiday in Japan, Keiro-no-hi (Respect-for-the-Aged Day Holiday; third Monday in September)
In the early morning, we went sea kayaking at the bay beneath our neighbourhood. This is the first time we kayak together in two years.
We departed the beach at 8:00 AM. This is a tandem kayak. |
Going to the opposite side of the bay |
Looking back to Mt.Itoshima-Fuji, the sun light was reflecting on the sea. |
Our whole neighbourhood can be seen from the kayak |
In 40 minutes, we arrived to the opposite shore. It's beautiful and comfortable private beach of this resort cottage area. |
The panorama view of this private beach, where there is no one except us. |
Returning back to the beach we departed. It was a really nice kayaking. |
We carried the kayak on a two-wheeled cart to our car parked beside a road.
What a lovely reason to have a public holiday - respect for the aged! I've never heard of any nation having such a thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a love way to spend the day and a beautiful place to spend it in.
