SIGNS AND UK FLAG GARLANDS FOR OPEN GARDEN (オープンガーデンのための看板と連続旗)

 

It's May and the Open Garden is coming up. To get ready, we put up an open garden signs and a British flag garlands. This has got me in the mood and I'm excited. The forecast is for a lot of rainy days this week, but we are praying for good weather so that many visitors can enjoy the Open Garden.

五月に入り、オープンガーデンが近づいてきました. 準備のために、オープンガーデンの看板と、英国旗のガーランドを設置してみました. これで気分が盛り上がって、わくわくしてきました. 今週は雨の日が多い予報ですが、オープンガーデンの時はたくさんの来園者に楽しんで頂けるように、好天に恵まれるように祈っています.

GARDEN SIGN (庭の銘板)

 

The sign at the entrance to the garden welcomes visitors with a couple of British flags when the garden is open in May. 

庭の入り口にある看板には、五月のオープンガーデンの際はイギリスの国旗を飾って来園者の皆さんをお迎えします. 

I made this sign myself in the spring of 2013. I carved the letters with a trimmer on a slightly old thick board and painted the carved grooves with blue paint. 

この看板は2013年の春に自分で作りました. 少し古くなった厚い板に、トリマーで文字を彫って、彫った溝に青いペンキを塗りました. 

Nearly nine years later, the paint was getting darker and some of it was peeling, so I decided to repaint it. It was a sunny and windless day, the garden was not too cold and I finished in about an hour. 

それから9年近くが経過して、ペンキの色は濃くなり、そして一部が剥げてきたので、ペンキで書き直すことにしました. 少し日が照って風もない日で、庭もあまり寒くなくて、一時間ほどで終わりました.
