STAINED GLASS IN THE MORNING SUN (朝日のステンドグラス)

 

In the morning, when the sun is shining brightly, the stained glass in the garden room looks even more beautiful with the reflected light from the sea. 

朝日がまぶしく輝く朝は、海面からの反射光も加わって、ガーデンルームのステンドグラスがより鮮やかに美しく見えます. 

The stained glass window on the right was installed in the gazebo window before the garden room was built, and was made in England in the 1930s. The size of the window was chosen to match the size of the stained glass, thus preserving the atmosphere of the gazebo. 

右側のステンドグラスは、ガーデンルームを建てる前にはガゼボの窓に設置していたもので、1930年代のイギリス製です. このステンドグラスのサイズに合わせて窓の大きさを決め、ガゼボの時の雰囲気を残しました. 

The window on the left was an ordinary window, but it is a fake stained-glass window made recently using a film to decorate the window in the style of stained glass. 

左の窓は普通の窓でしたが、ステンドグラス風に窓を飾るフィルムを使って最近作った偽のステンドグラスの窓です. 

Originally, I had built a gazebo with a retractable awning on the deck at the back of where the garden room now stands. An antique stained glass window was placed in the centre of the front. In good weather, we used to sit here to enjoy tea or to read. We also had a chance to see the cherry blossoms lit up at night. 

もともと現在ガーデンルームが建っているところの奥のデッキに、開閉式のオーニングを備えたガゼボを自作していました. その正面の中央にアンティークのステンドグラスを設置していたのです. 気候の良い季節にはここでお茶を楽しんだり、読書をしたりして過ごしていました. ライトアップした夜桜の花見もしました.

I bought this film at the British Fair held at the Hakata Hankyu department store this year. The window looked a bit bare even with this film, so I designed it to match the style of the antique stained glass window on the right, and bought another type of film to put on the window to create a stained-glass style window. 

今年阪急デパートで開催された英国展で窓ガラスに貼って飾るフィルムを見て購入しました. これだけ貼っても窓がさみしい感じでしたので、右側のアンティークのステンドグラスのスタイルに合わせてデザインし、窓ガラスに貼る他の種類のフィルムの買って、ステンドグラス風の窓にしてみました. 

The cut films were arranged on a piece of cardboard the same size as the window pane. 
窓ガラスと同じサイズの段ボールの上に、切ったフィルムを並べたところ

I used rubber sponge strips instead of lead came. 
ゴム製のスポンジを細長く切ったものを鉛線（レッドケイム）のかわりに使用

Blue styrene board cut into the shape of a Gothic arch, then painted dark blue and placed in the window
青いスチレン性のボードをゴシックアーチの形に切ったもので、このあと濃い青色のペンキを塗って窓に設置
