In our garden we grow two kinds of akebi.
One is the wild variety, which ripened in September and was the subject of this blog.
The other is a horticultural cultivar and is the subject of today's blog post. In most years the fruits ripen at about the same time as the wild variety, but this year they ripened more than a month later, at the end of October, and turned a beautiful pale purple colour.
うちの庭では木通(アケビ)を二種類栽培しています.
一つは野生種で、9月に実が熟してこのブログに記事をアップしています.
もう一つは園芸栽培品種で、今日のブログ記事の主題です。いつもの年は野生種とほぼ同時に熟してくるのですが、今年は1か月以上遅れて10月末にやっと熟して美しい薄紫色に色づきました.
