OUR POTAGER IN MID-SUMMER (with a video clip) (真夏のポタジェ-- 動画つき)

August has come and boiling hot days have continued.
It is hot even at 7 am in the potager because of morning sunshine.
Most of plants stand the extraordinary heat, however,
some plants died because of the heat and drought.

八月になりましたが、うだるような暑さが続いています.
朝日があたるためポタジェは午前7時でも暑いです.
多くの植物は異常な暑さと干ばつにも絶えていますが、
枯れてしまった植物もあります.


Apples have grown large, and a few of them are slightly changing colour.

リンゴの実は大きくなり、ちょっと色づき始めたものもあります.


Foxglove is still flowering.

ジギタリスもまだ咲いています.


Roses bear some flowers.

Dahlia is flowering at the east end of the potager.

ダリアはポタジェの東の端で咲いています.


White flowers among asparagus leaves are silene.

アスパラガスの間に咲いている白い花はフクロナデシコ


In the evening we watered the gardens as usual.
We were soaked with sweat again.

夕方庭にいつものように水やりしました.
また汗びっしょりです.
