Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

CUTE YOUNG FRUITS (可愛い小さな果実)

I found little fruits in the bluebell garden.
Its shape is just like flowers in a vase.

ブルーベルの庭で小さな果実をみつけました.
その形は花を生けた花瓶のようです.

The Bluebell Garden is located at the southwest end of our gardens.
There are some fruit trees; prune, karin, Japanese apricot and pear.
Karin's pink flowers are still in bloom, and prune has started to flower.

A tree with yellowish green leaves (center, left) is karin,
and a tree with white flowers (center, right) is prune.

ブルーベルの庭はうちの庭の南西の隅にあり

プルーン、カリン、梅、そして洋ナシの木があります.

カリンはまだ花を咲かせていて、プルーンも花が咲き出しました.

This prune has grown from a seed (Its origin is unknown).

I found it when it was one-foot height more than ten years ago.

About five years ago, it bore flowers and fruits,

and I knew that it is a prune tree for the first time.

Its white flowers look modest.
