Bumble bee has come at last to our blueberry flowers.
The flowers started to flower several days ago,
and it was a sunny and a bit hot day today.
They pollinate more than ten-thousand flowers in April,
and we pick up more than 10kg berry in summer.
We owe them for the crop!

On the other hand, I found a pest of rose; a rose sawfly (Arge pagana).
It deposits eggs in young stalks of rose,
and its larvae eat young leaves.

Dear Poirot
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing the bees on the blueberries too - my blueberries are a bit behind yours though and are not yet in flower. My roses also get attacked by the rose sawfly so I do sympathise about that - the little caterpillars do make an awful mess of the leaves. I try and get rid of them as soon as I see them but it is a bit of a battle between us!
Best wishes
Ellie
Dear Ellie
DeleteI love to hear buzzing of bees.
The battle has already started between pests and us this season.
