Camellia sasanqua has started to bloom this month, and bears a number of flowers now. It is pinkish red with golden-yellow stamens. It flowers until early January.

MINI-TOMATO IN LATE AUTMN (晩秋のミニトマト)
We grow dwarf mini-tomato 'Tumbling Tom Red' in the terraced bed. It bore many fruits in summer, and it regrow new stems and leaves in early autumn.
Plastic covering is helping the mini-tomato to ripen its fruits.
Many fruits has become red these days, and we pick red fruits.
ミニトマトの「タンブリング・トム・レッド」を段々畑で育てていて、夏にたくさん実をつけて、秋の初めにまた新しい枝や葉を伸ばしました.
ビニールで覆って、ミニトマトの実が熟するのを助けています.
たくさんの実が赤くなってきて、赤い実を摘んでいます.

JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE (エルサレム・アーティチョーク)
We harvested Jerusalem artichoke.
It weighed about 2.5 kg.
A quarter of it was sliced. And a half was soaked in sweet vinegar, which is my favorite, and another half was dried.
Three quarters of the harvest were returned in soil to preserve for a while.
Several tubers were planted in new felt containers for the next season.

MEXICAN MARIGOLD (レモンマリゴールド)
Mexican marigold is a fresh lemon smell scented herb, and flowers in late autumn and early winter. It is easily propagated by cutting.
In the back meadow, it has started to bloom, and it looks so stunning.
レモンマリゴールドは爽やかなレモンの香りがあり、晩秋から初冬にかけて咲きます. 挿し木で簡単に増やせます.
裏のメドーで咲き始めていて、とても綺麗です.

FLOWER SEEDLINGS (花の実生苗)
We are growing two blue flowers from seeds.
We grow them for the first time in our garden.
種から二種類の青い花を今育てています.
うちの庭で育てるのは初めてです.
The first one is Asperula orientalis (oriental woodruff). It is planned to grow in raised beds of the potager. It flowers in April and May, I suppose.
一つはアスペルラで、ポタジェのレイズドベッドに植える予定です. 多分四月から五月に咲くと思います.
The other is Echium vulgare 'Blue Bedder'. It is planned to grow in the central flower bed in the main garden.
もう一つはエキウムのブルーベッダーで、メインガーデンの中央花壇に植えるつもりです.

WHITE ROSES IN LATE-AUTUMN EVENING (晩秋の夕暮れの白バラ)
We grow two varieties of white rose in front of the bench.
They are climbing roses; Rosa 'Iceberg' and 'Snow Goose' both of which are trained on an iron arch.
Both of them flowers repeatedly from early summer to late autumn.
ベンチの前に二種類の白バラを育てています.
つるバラのアイスバーグとスノーグースで、鉄筋のアーチに誘引しています.

RIDING CLUB AND HORSE MANURE (乗馬クラブと馬糞)
It was a beautiful day yesterday.
We went to a local riding club to get horse manure.
Two people were riding and some were watching them.
昨日はとてもいい天気でした.
地元の乗馬クラブに出かけて馬糞をいただきました.
二人馬に乗ってあり、見物しているひともいました.
A heap of horse manure was behind a stable.
Fresh manure was brought by a young woman in riding cloths.
馬糞の山は厩舎の裏にあります.
新鮮な馬糞を乗馬服を着た若い女性が運んできました.
We packed it in thirty bags, and brought them home.
30袋分馬糞をつめて家に持ち帰りました.
The manure was finally put into the compost bin in the bluebell garden.
It matures in several months, and some of it is mixed with compost materials.
そして、ブルーベルの庭にあるコンポスト容器に入れました.
数か月で熟成しますが、一部はコンポストの材料と混ぜて使います.
