We have a lemon tree in the corner of our main garden beside blueberry trees. We planted it about ten years ago, and it has grown 12 feet high.
She harvested six lemons, and made five jars of lemon curd. Then she made a pound cake. Lemon peels were added in and on the cake.
We enjoyed the cake with lemon curd. I felt the lemon peels a bit hard, but lemon curd tasted so good.
Dear Poirot
ReplyDeleteHome made lemon curd is one of life's joys! We use it in a sponge cake together with butter cream icing, which is wonderful! You have some of my favourite pattern for crockery in the last photo - Spode Blue Italian. I am trying to collect some of it so that I can use it (especially for tea and cake!)
Enjoy your lemon harvest.
Best wishes
Ellie
Thank you for your comment. My wife bought the crockery at an antique shop in Tokyo a couple of years ago.
DeleteHow delicious, it is hard to beat home-made lemon curd! I am envious that you can grow a lemon tree out of doors. Mine are currently huddled for protection in the greenhouse under a blanket of fleece,
ReplyDeleteIt took several years after planting to harvest lemons. It is much warmer than UK, I think.
