REFORMING THE BATH TUB POOL (バスタブで作った水槽のリフォーム)

We made a small pool using a bath tub of my late mother in 2011.
My son helped me to make it during a new year vacation.

Seven years have passed since that, and several problems have occurred,
 including rotting of its wooden cover, leaking of water which made the ground soaked, growing weeds just beside it, etc.

In addition, the wooden retaining wall of blueberry plot has become to rot.

So, I decided to lay a concrete foundation under the bath tub, and to add reinforcing concrete blocks to the wooden wall.

2011年、亡き母が使っていたバスタブで小さな池を作りました。

息子が正月休みに手伝ってくれました。

それから7年たって、いくつかの問題が出てきました。

たとえば、木で作った囲いが腐ってきたり、水が漏れて地面がびしょ濡れになったり、すぐまわりに雑草が生えたりといった問題です。

さらに、ブルーベリー畑の木製の土留めも腐ってきています。

それで、バスタブの下にコンクリートの基礎をつくり、

木製の土留めをコンクリートブロックで補強をすることにしました。

At first, I remove the turf and pavings

まず芝と敷石をはがしました

The wooden cover was removed

木製のカバーを外しました

Molehills were found under the bath tub.

モグラの盛り土がバスタブの下にありました

I leveled the ground..

地面を平らにして・・

and made a wooden frame and placed the metal mesh in it

そして、木枠をつくって中に溶接金網を置いて、

Then add gravel and dry cement. 

砂利、そしてドライセメントを入れます

Finally spray water on the top. 

最後に表面に水をまきます。

Concrete blocks were placed just outside of the wooden wall, 

木製の土留め壁のすぐ外側にコンクリートブロックを置いて、

and finish its surface with mortar

モルタルで表面を仕上げて、

and finally, I painted the cover and concrete blocks dark brown. 

そして最後に、木枠とブロックを濃い茶色で塗って完成


I'm planning to grow water lily in the pool.

池ではスイレンを育ててみようかと考えています
