MONTBRETIA IN THE BLUEBELL GARDEN (ブルーベルの庭のヒメヒオウギスイセン)

Montbretia bears orange-red beautiful flowers in rainy season. 

Its colour is vivid and it looks stunning in contrast with green colour. 

ヒメヒオウギスイセンは赤橙色の花を梅雨の時期に咲かせます.

その色は鮮やかで、緑色との対比ですばらしく見えます.

THE SECOND BLOOMING OF ROSE IN THE RAIN (雨の中のバラの二番花)

There was a heavy rain fall in three hours of this early morning, 

and a rain gauge on the table in the garden showed a 130 mm fall of rain. 

今日の早朝3時間ほど大雨が降り

庭のテーブルの上の雨量計が130ｍｍを示していました.

Roses beside the sleeper steps has started to bloom again. 

枕木の階段のバラたちがまた咲き始めています.

BRILLIANT ORANGE FLOWERS OF TRUMPET VINE (鮮やかなオレンジ色のノウゼンカズラ)

A standard Chinese trumpet vine (Campsis grandiflora) in the central bed
has just started to bear orange flowers.
Another trumpet vine (red flower, Campsis radicans)
has been flowering since early June over the fake-windowed garden shed.

HARVESTING POTATO (ジャガイモ収穫)

We planted potato at the beginning of March.
Its leaves are dying back.
Because it was sunny and dry yesterday, potato was harvested. 

It was 'Andes Red' potato,
which has beautiful rich red skin with a slightly yellow flesh.
It is a floury type potato. It breaks down with cooking.
So, it is great for mashing, croquet and potato salad.

三月の初めに植え付けたジャガイモ、
葉が枯れてきていました.
昨日は天気が良くて乾いていたので、ジャガイモの収穫でした.
品種は案でスレッド、
赤い皮で、実は少しだけ黄色みがあり、粉質で
料理すると柔らかく崩れてくるので
マッシュポテトやコロッケ、ポテトサラダに最適です.

This small potato looks like an apple.
この小さなジャガイモ、リンゴみたい.

PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE (部分日食)

We watched a partial solar eclipse this afternoon. 

If you didn't know it, you never noticed that because the sun was too bright. 

The tide was on the ebb at that time. 

午後、部分日食を見ました.

太陽はとてもまぶしくて、知らなければ気づかなかったでしょう.

潮は引き潮でした.

GLOBE ARTICHOKE FLOWERS (アーティチョークの花)

Flower of globe artichoke looks like that of thistle.
It has started to flower in the bluebell garden.
Its blue-purple colour is quite similar to hydrangea.
Meadow bunting (Emberiza cioides) sings in the video clip below.

アーティチョークの花はアザミの花に似ています.
ブルーベルの庭で咲き始めています.
その青紫はアジサイの花の色ともそっくりです.
下の動画ではホオジロが鳴いてます.

REFLOWERING ROSE IN THE POTAGER (ポタジェでバラ返り咲き)

Most of flowers in the potager are over,
however, Rosa 'Cocktail' bears a number of flowers again.

ポタジェの花はほとんど終わりましたが、
バラのカクテルがまたたくさんの花をつけています.

Apple on the iron arch bears many young fruits.
アーチのリンゴがたくさん青い実をつけています
