Today I cleaned and set two nest boxes for Japanese tits.
It was warm (Max temperature 14.9 C) and a strong wind blew from the south.
The first strong south winds of the year are called "Haru Ichban" in Japan.
Haru means spring, and Ichiban means the first one,
and it is thought that it's a signal of the beginning of spring.
The traditional one was set on the cherry beside the gazebo.
Another blue diamond-shape one is on the Japanese maple behind the shed with fake windows.
They can be seen from the house window, however,
leaves will hide them in spring.
