My old friend send me an amaryllis pot in late January.
I put it at the windowsill and started to give water.
The bulb was cooled for weeks to force,
and it started to grow and flower.

この球根は数週間冷却されて早く咲くようにしてあり、
成長を始めて花を咲かせました。
It has grown up within two weeks,
and flowered in the middle of February.
It's wonderful to look at the vivid colour big flowers in mid-winter, isn't it.
2週間ほどで大きくなって、2月中旬には花を咲かせました。
真冬にこんな鮮やかな色の大きな花がみられるのは素晴らしいですね。
I cut the flower head after flowering,
and replanted it in a little larger terracotta pot.
