Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

BLUEBERRY FLOWERS ARE WAITING FOR BUMBLEBEES (ハナバチを待つブルーベリーの花)

Leaves of blueberry are growing,
and a number of flowers are out now.

We are waiting bumblebees for good harvest in summer.

ブルーベリーの葉が伸びて
無数の花が開いてきています.
たくさんの収穫のためにハナバチたちがくるのを待っています.

CHERRY BLOSSOM PETALS (桜の花びら)

It's been raining for three days,
and the cherry blossoms are falling in the rain.
They stick on everything under the tree;
the compost bin, leaves of globe artichoke, the arbour seat etc.
The 45-year old thermometer reads 11℃.

雨が三日降り続いています.
雨の中、山桜の花びらが散って
下にあるあらゆるものにくっついています、
コンポスト容器、アーティチョークの葉、屋根付きベンチなど・・
古い温度計は摂氏11度を示しています.

TULIP IN A HEAVY RAIN (大雨の中のチューリップ)

There was a heavy rainfall this morning with more than 50mm.
The gardens were soaked.
Yellow tulips didn't open in the dark morning.
Acacia's yellow pompons were also drenched and drooped down.

The cherry were in full bloom
and the best time to view will continue to this weekend.

今朝は５０ミリを超える大雨で
庭はびっしょり濡れました.
黄色いチューリップは暗い朝では開きません.
ミモザの黄色い花も濡れてしだれています.
山桜は満開になり
今週末まで見ごろは続きそうです.

CHERRY BLOSSOM: MORINING, DAY AND NIGHT (桜の花、朝、昼、そして夜)

The sun rose from the Mt. Itoshima-Fuji,
and the cherry was stained red by the morning sunshine.

太陽が糸島富士から上ってきて

朝日に桜が赤く染まります

In the day time the flowers look pink

and are beautiful in contrast with the blue sky.

昼間は花はピンク色で

青空との対比がとてもきれいです

In the evening the tree was illuminated.

黄昏時、ライトアップを開始

At night white flowers emerge from the darkness by illumination.

夜、照明に白い花びらが浮かび上がります.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPEN GARDEN 2020 Part I (今年のオープンガーデンのお知らせ、その１)

Our open garden will be held in April and May 2020.
Today I post details of open garden in April.

★Open garden is held on 11th and 12th of April (10am-3pm)
　We open our garden as a member of REIWA OPEN GARDEN scheme,
and no charity is needed.
