TRAINING WISTERIA IN SUMMER (夏のフジの剪定)

We grow wisteria on arches over the brick wall.
It is Japanese wisteria (Wisteria floribunda) .
Once we trained two varieties of climbing roses there, however,
pruning and training was so difficult for me
because they grew at the high place and had many thorns.
When we visited UK, we looked at wisteria here and there,
and it looked so stunning.
Wisteria is usually grown on pergolas in Japan, however,
it often trained on the wall in UK. 

So, I wanted to grow it on the wall, and I replaced climbing roses with wisterias.
I planted three young plants behind the brick wall,
two of which were grown from seeds.
Those seeds were taken from a seedpod of wisteria grown in a pot,
which was also planted behind the brick wall. .

もともと2種類のつるバラを誘引していましたが、

剪定や誘引が大変でした.

というのは、高いところでたくさんのトゲがあったからです.

イギリス旅行であちこちでフジを見ましたが

ほんとに素晴らしかったです.

日本ではフジは棚の上で育てますが、

イギリスではよく壁に誘引してありました.

それで、壁に育ててみたいと思って、つるバラの代わりにフジにしたのです.

塀の裏側に苗を3本植えましたが、

そのうち二つは種から育てたものです.

その種は鉢植えのフジから採ったもので、

その鉢植えのフジも一緒にレンガ塀の裏に植えました.

I untwined and pruned stems, and trained to rebars and aluminium wires

over the brick wall. 

枝をほどいて剪定し、レンガ塀の上の鉄筋やアルミ線に誘引しました.

I am not sure when they bear flowers,

 however, I am really looking forward to looking at its flowers. 

いつ頃花をつけるかはわかりませんが

花が咲くのが楽しみです.
