Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

THE MAIN GARDEN IN SUMMER (夏の主庭)

It's July and the main garden is now a summer garden.

The some roses are repeatedly blooming with new branches.

The passion flower and the potato vine on the garden room wall have also been in flower for some time.

The potted coleus is growing thicker and its foliage is becoming more colourful with small blue flowers.

The pale blue of the catmint and agapanthus in the blue flower beds is refreshing in the heat.

It's too hot during the day and there are mosquitoes, so we can't relax in the garden, but the garden room is refreshing thanks to the air conditioning. I enjoy reading or having a cup of tea.

7月に入って、主庭は夏の庭になっています.

四季咲き性のバラたちは、新しい枝を伸ばしながら、繰り返して花をつけています.

ガーデンルームの壁のトケイソウとツルハナナスもずっと花を咲かせています.

鉢植えのコリウスは枝葉が茂って、その葉の色が鮮やかになってきました.

青の花壇のキャットミントとアガパンサスの薄いブルーは暑さの中で爽やかさを感じさせてくれます.

日中は暑くて蚊もいるので、庭ではゆっくりできませんが、ガーデンルームは空調のお陰で爽やかに過ごせます. 読書やお茶を楽しんでいます.
