Mary Delany, formerly known as Motimer Sackler, is a climbing rose with almost no thorns on shoots, produced by David Austin.
Its medium-sized pink flowers looks so stunning.
メアリーディレイニーは、以前モティマーサックラーと呼ばれていたバラで、デビッドオースチンが作り出した枝にほとんどトゲのないバラです.
その中輪のピンクの花はとても素晴らしく見えます.

PURE WHITE FLOWER OF CHAMELEON PLANT (ドクダミの純白の花)
Chameleon plant is flowering in the bluebell garden now.
It has a distinctive aroma.
Pure white petals are so beautiful.
Note that it is a invasive plant that spreads by underground stems.
ドクダミの花が今、ブルーベルの庭で咲いています.
独特の香りがあります.
純白の花びらがとても綺麗です.

ACANTHUS MOLLIS IN FULL BLOOM (満開のアカンサス)
Acanthus has long been used as a design motif, for example in decorative patterns in ancient Greek architecture. The late 19th century English designer William Morris also used acanthus leaves in his wallpaper designs.
We use his wallpaper design in our garden room, and the same design is used in the sprit curtains that decorate our windows.
And the acanthus flowers are now in full bloom in the window. The uniquely shaped leaves are beautiful, but the flowers are also uniquely shaped and decorative.
アカンサスは古代ギリシャ時代の建築の飾り文様にも使われるなど、古くからデザインのモチーフにされてきました. そして19世紀末のイギリスのデザイナー、ウイリアムモリスが壁紙のデザインにもアカンサスの葉を使っています.
彼のデザインした壁紙を庭のガーデンルームに使っていて、窓を飾るカーテン（暖簾）にも同じデザインのものを使用しています.
そして、その窓からアカンサスの花が今見ごろを迎えています. 独特の形の葉も美しいですが、その花も形がユニークで装飾的です.

FLOWERS, VEGS, HERBS AND FRUITS IN THE POTAGER (ポタジェの花、野菜、ハーブ、果実)
It is late May, the first flowers of the Potager roses are over, there are only a few flowers left on the top of foxglove spikes, and many seeds are forming below.
The apple arch and espalier are full of small apple trees, which are gradually getting bigger.
Asparagus is leafing out and Swiss chard and Perilla are growing in net frames.
The cornflowers are still flowering, but the flax has finished flowering and is going to seed.
The grape (Delaware) has started to flower.
In a week or two we will enter the rainy season.
五月下旬になり、ポタジェのバラの一番花は終わり、ジギタリスの花穂の花も残りわずかとなり、下の方には種が沢山できてきています.
リンゴのアーチと垣根にはたくさん小さいリンゴの実がついていて、少しずつ大きくなっています.
アスパラガスは葉を茂らせ、スイスチャードやシソなどがネットフレームの中で育っています.
ヤグルマギクはまだ咲き続けていますが、亜麻は花は終わって種が出来てきています.
ブドウ（デラウェア）の花が咲き始めました.
あと１，２週間で梅雨に入ります.

TASTING GLOBE ARTICHOKE (アーティチョークの試食)
Artichoke buds are swelling up and ready to eat. I harvested the biggest bud, boiled and ate it. This vegetable is only eaten once a year at this time of year.
I will not eat the other buds, but watch the flowers. Next month they will have beautiful blue-purple flowers.
アーティチョークの蕾が大きく膨らんできて、そろそろ食べごろです. 一番大きな蕾を収穫して茹でて食べました. 年に一回だけこの時期に食べられる野菜？です.
他の蕾は花を咲かせようと思います. 来月にはとても美しい青紫の花になります.
