Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

PLANTING CABBAGE SEEDLINGS IN LATE DECEMBER (年末のキャベツ苗の植え付け)

In the potager, the asparagus has withered, marking the end of this season. I pruned them back to ground level. The North Pole and chamomile that bloomed this spring have grown, and the North Pole is beginning to flower a little. The mini tomatoes, planted twice this spring and summer, failed to ripen due to the cold and are now finished. I pulled them up and disposed of them in the compost bin.

Following the mini tomatoes, cabbage seedlings have been planted. Insect netting has been placed over them to protect the leaves from pests. They are scheduled for harvest next spring.

ポタジェではアスパラガスが枯れてきて、今シーズンも終了です。地際で剪定しました。今年の春に咲いたノースポールやカモミールが育ち、ノースポールは少し花が咲き始めています。春と夏に二度植え付けて育てたミニトマトも寒さで実が熟せず、もう終わりです。引き抜いてコンポスト容器に処分しました。

ミニトマトの後にはキャベツの苗を植え付けました。防虫ネットをかぶせて虫から葉を守ります。来春の収穫予定です。
