Camellias are evergreen shrubs or small trees. Their leaves are thick and glossy. They flower in late winter to early spring when deciduous trees have no leaves, and, therefore, their flowers like roses and deep green leaves are very valuable for gardens.
In our garden, two camellia sasanqua have grown wild. When we cut trees to build our house, some kinds of trees like cherry, mochi tree (Ilex integra) and camellia sasanqua were not cut and saved.
Late November, pink flowers of camellia sasanqua have started to bloom in the garden. Pink camellia flowers and red ilex berries decorate our garden beautifully in winter.

Golden yellow stamens are also stunning. |
Lots of petals of Camellia sasanqua fall on the ground, and the lawn is covered completely with pink petals at its peak. Sometimes my wife collects the petals and put them in the bath. It looks like rose petal bath in winter:-)
