Tiger lily (Lilium lancifolium) is native to Far East Asia incuding Japan.
It is widely planted as an ornamental
because of its showy orange-and-black flowers.
It is one of rare species that produce bulbils in the leaf axils along the stem.
We used them to propagate the plant.

オニユリは日本をはじめ極東に自生するユリで
オレンジと黒の花が美しいためによく植えられています.
茎の葉腋（葉の付け根）にムカゴをつくる珍しい植物で
これを使って増やすことができます.
オニユリの花がが庭のガゼボとレンガ塀の間で咲き始めています.

それぞれの茎におよそ10個ほどの蕾がつき
下から上への咲きます.
