Itoshima, where we live, is located in the western suburbs of Fukuoka and is very popular in winter because of the many oyster restaurants or huts (Kakigoya) that are open to barbecue oysters and other seafood.
The calm bay is lined with oyster rafts, from which fresh oysters are taken every day and served in the oyster huts.
In the fishing boat behind the oyster hut, barnacles and other debris are being removed from the oyster shells.
Oyster huts are open from late October until the end of March.

私たちの住む糸島は福岡の西の郊外にあり、冬は牡蠣などの海産物をバーベキューにして食べる牡蠣小屋がたくさん開いてとても人気があります.
穏やかな湾に牡蠣の養殖筏がたくさん並んでいて、そこから毎日新鮮な牡蠣を取ってきて牡蠣小屋で提供しています.
牡蠣小屋の後ろの漁船では、牡蠣の殻についたフジツボなどの付着物を取り除く作業をされています.
牡蠣小屋は10月下旬から始まって、3月末ごろまで賑わいます.
