Ginger lily (Hedychium coronarium) is an upright perennial which may reach 1–3 m in height. It has long pointed leaves, with heavily-scented white flowers with yellow bases. Flowering occurs between August and December.
On the lower slopes of the bluebell garden, it flowered once in August and is now starting to flower again. The air is wonderfully fragrant.
