WHITE JAPANESE ANEMONE (白いシュウメイギク)

Every autumn, Japanese anemones are in bloom under plum trees.  

The place is half-shade, 

and their flowers look lovely with sunshine filtering through plum foliage.  

毎年秋になるとシュウメイギクがスモモの木の下で咲きます。

半日かげにあり、

木漏れ日が当たるととてもきれいに見えます。

Last month we bought a small plant of pink one, and planted beside them.  

Next autumn, we would look at white flowers with pink ones.  

先月、ピンク色のシュウメイギクの苗を買ってきて横に植えました。

来年の秋、白とピンクの花がみられることでしょう。

AUTUMN FLOWERING ACACIA (秋咲きのミモザ)

Acacia conferta (Golden-top) is blooming at the top of our garden.
 Iｔ bears bright yellow spherical fluffy flowers just like other acacia plants,
and has drooping branches and very fine leaves similar to Japanese cedar.  

ミモザ・ゴールデントップが庭の一番上で咲いています。

他のミモザと同じ黄色いふわふわした球状の花をつけ
枝垂れた枝と杉の葉のような細い葉が特徴です。

THE MOON AND PLANETS THIS MORNING (今朝の月と惑星たち)

This early morning, the moon was followed by three planets in the east sky: 

Venus, Mars and Jupiter.  

They are linearly arranged in the constellation Leo.  

Clouds had come as the dawn was breaking, 

and they were illuminated madder red by morning sunshine.  

今日の早朝、月に続いて三つの惑星が東の空に昇ってきました

金星、火星、そして木星です

しし座で直線状に並んでいます

夜が明けるにつれて雲が来て

朝日に照らされてあかね色に染まりました

MEXICAN SAGE AT ITS BEST (メキシカンセージ最高の時)

Salvia leucantha 'Mexican Sage' is now in full bloom in the central flower bed.
Its velvet like purple flowers are stunning as well as its light green leaves.

中央花壇のメキシカンセージが今満開です。
ベルベットのような紫の花と明るい緑の葉がとてもきれいです。

AKEBIA FRUITS 2015 (アケビの実)

Most of akebia vine fruits have ripened at the upper entrance of our garden.  

Today I harvested them, and gave some to our friends.
I tasted jelly material that contains many seeds,
and it was ddecently sweet.  

庭の上の入り口でアケビの実が熟してきました。
今日収穫して、少し友人たちにあげました。
種がたくさんあるゼリー状のところを食べてみると
上品な甘さでした。

10月のバラ

BRITISH FAIR 2015 IN FUKUOKA (英国フェア)

We went to the British Fair 2015 held at Hakata Hankyu department store in Fukuoka.
It was rainy with a strong south wind, and it was not crowded.  

So, we enjoyed shopping leisurely.  

福岡の博多阪急デパートで開催中の英国フェア2015に行きました。

雨が降って風も強く、すいていましたので、

ゆっくりショッピングができました。

First we looked around for antique porcelain ware, and then for botanical art.  

最初にアンティークの磁器類、そしてボタニカルアートなど見て回りました。

Some handcraft artists had come and demonstrated how to make.  

手工芸のアーチストさんたちが来て、実演していました。

My wife took an interest in silver accessories, and she bought a couple of earrings.  

One of them was a sitting pixie on a crescent moon, and other was a shooting star that says 'wishes come true'.  

家内は銀のアクセサリーに興味をもち、イヤリングを買いました。

一つは三日月に腰かけたピクシー（妖精）、もう一つは願いはかなうと書かれた流れ星です。

We tasted many kinds of tea with some candies.  

キャンディーと一緒に紅茶の試飲を何種類もさせてもらいました。

We watched demonstration sale of fish and tips.  

フィッシュアンドチップスの実演販売も見ました。

At the end, we bought take-out food;  cottage pies and fish cakes cooked 

by Mrs Yukari Elliott who lives in England.  

They were so tasty and we enjoyed them.  

最後に、持ち帰りのコテージパイとフィッシュケーキを買いました。

イギリス在住のエリオットゆかりさんが出されていました。

おいしくいただきましたよ。
