The scent of Young Lycidas is a delicious strong mix of tea and old rose.
The flowers are dark pink and deeply cupped, opening to rosettes.

POTAGER IN EARLY MAY (五月上旬のポタジェ)
It's May and the potager is getting busier and busier. The corn poppies are in full bloom and the foxgloves have long spikes of flowers and many flowers. Many other flowers are in bloom, vegs are growing and the apple trees are full of small fruits. The most beautiful and busiest season for potager is here.
五月になり、ポタジェもにぎやかになっています. ヒナゲシがたくさん咲いて、キツネノテブクロも長く花穂を伸ばしてたくさんの花をつけています. そのほかいろいろな花が咲き、野菜が育ち、リンゴの木には小さな実がたくさんついています. ポタジェが一番賑やかで美しい季節がやってきました.

SWEET SCENTED JASMINE (甘い香りのジャスミン)
There is a fence of jasmine with white flowers at the front of the path from the upper entrance to the Main Garden. The sweet scent of jasmine wafts all around. Very soothing with a nice fragrance.
庭の上の入り口からメインガーデンに続く小道の正面に白い花が咲いているジャスミンのフェンスがあります. 甘い香りがあたりに漂っています. とても癒されるいい香りです.

BRILLIANT CORN POPPY IN THE POTAGER (ポタジェの鮮やかなヒナゲシ)
We grow corn poppy in our potager every year. The daisy seeds produce not only bright red flowers, but also pink, apricot and white flowers, which are a lot of fun.
Its brightly coloured thin silky petals are really beautiful.
Bumblebees also come and buzz around.
ポタジェには毎年ヒナゲシを育てています. ヒナゲシの種から真っ赤な花だけでなく、ピンクやアプリコット色、白などいろんな花が咲いてくるので、楽しみです.
その鮮やかな色の薄い絹のような花びらは本当に綺麗です.
ハナバチもやってきてブンブン羽音を響かせます.

MY FAVOURITE ALLIUM (私のお気に入りのアリウム)
Allium cristophii has started to bloom in the Potager. It is a spherical cluster of small purple metallic star-shaped flowers.
I first came across this allium on a tour of British gardens in 2010. I was so fascinated by its beauty that I looked up the botanical name, bought some bulbs and planted them in my garden.
Sometimes they bloom every year, sometimes the bulbs disappear. The disadvantage is that it is difficult to propagate.
アリウム・クリストフィーアイがポタジェで咲き始めました. 紫色のメタリックな星型の小さな花たちが球状に集まって咲きます.
このアリウムに出逢ったのは2010年のイギリスガーデン巡りツアーでのことでした. その美しさに魅せられて、植物名を調べ、球根を買って植えたのが庭での始まりです.
毎年咲く場合もあれば、球根が消えてしまうこともあります. なかなか増やせないのが欠点です.

SIGNS AND UK FLAG GARLANDS FOR OPEN GARDEN (オープンガーデンのための看板と連続旗)
It's May and the Open Garden is coming up. To get ready, we put up an open garden signs and a British flag garlands. This has got me in the mood and I'm excited. The forecast is for a lot of rainy days this week, but we are praying for good weather so that many visitors can enjoy the Open Garden.
五月に入り、オープンガーデンが近づいてきました. 準備のために、オープンガーデンの看板と、英国旗のガーランドを設置してみました. これで気分が盛り上がって、わくわくしてきました. 今週は雨の日が多い予報ですが、オープンガーデンの時はたくさんの来園者に楽しんで頂けるように、好天に恵まれるように祈っています.
