庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.
　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

SEAWEED LIQUID FERTILISER IS READY TO USE (海草液肥できあがり)

It's raining today and we can't garden.
So, we bottle seaweed fertilizer in a roofed parking lot.

We picked up seaweed and soaked in water two months ago. 

30th April
今日は雨で庭仕事ができないので、海草液肥をボトルに詰めました.

ちょうど2ヶ月前に海草を拾って水に漬けました. 


The seaweed has decomposed, and we filtered and stored in plastic bottles. 
We got seven bottles (14 litters) of seaweed liquid fertiliser. 
Trace elements found in seaweed organic fertilizers include magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, and nitrogen -- all of which are beneficial to plants. 

海草の分解が進んだので、漉してペットボトルに入れました.
ペットボトル7本分（14リットル）の海草液肥ができました.
海草有機肥料に含まれる微量元素、
マグネシウム、ポタシウム、亜鉛、鉄、窒素などすべては植物の栄養になります.

HEMEROCALLIS & CHASETE TREE FLOWERING WITH AGAPANTHUS (アガパンサスと一緒に咲くヘメロカリスとセイヨウニンジンボク)


Hemerocallis 'Catherine Woodbury' is now bearing elegant yellow-pink blossoms with fragrance just beside full-bloom agapanthus in the border. 



ボーダー花壇の満開のアガパンサスのすぐ横で
ヘメロカリス「キャサリンウッドベリー」が
エレガントな黄色とピンクの花を咲かせています. 


Chaste tree has also started to bloom behind hemerocallis. 
Red and orange colours of trumpet vine flowers
 contrast blue colour of agapanthus and chaste tree.  
Blueish purple Geranium 'Azure Rush' is still flowering since May. 


セイヨウニンジンボクもヘメロカリスの後ろで咲き始めました.
ノウゼンカズラの赤とオレンジ色が
アガパンサスとセイヨウニンジンボクのブルーと対比をなします. 
青紫色のゲラニウム「アズールラッシュ」も五月から花が咲いています.

AN ORNAMENTAL FLOWER OF ARTICHOKE (アーティチョークのオーナメンタルな花)


We ate all but one flower buds of globe artichoke last month,
and the last one, which was remained, started to flower last Friday.
We looked at artichoke flower for the first time in our garden.
It's really ornamental. 

アーティチョークの蕾は先月一つを残してみんな食べてしまいましたが、
最後の一つが先週金曜日に咲き始めました.
うちの庭に咲いたのを見るのは初めてです.
とってもオーナメンタルです.

LITTLE IRENE (可愛いイレーヌ)


We went to Kyusyu National Museum to look at the Special Exhibition
 "Impressionist Masterpieces from the E.G. Buehrle Collection, Zurich".

至上の印象派展 ビュールレ・コレクションを見に、
九州国立博物館に行って来ました.


So many advertisement posters of the Exhibition were hung in a train bound for Dazaifu (located 15 km southeast of Fukuoka). 

大宰府（福岡の南東15キロにある）行きの電車には
展覧会の広告がたくさん下がっていました.


Dazaifu is an old city since 7th century
 and is famous for Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
We paid a visit to the Shrine and ate popular 'Umegae' rice cakes
before visit the Museum.




大宰府は7世紀からの古い町で
太宰府天満宮で有名です.
博物館に行く前に、
天満宮に参詣して名物の梅が枝餅を食べました.


The Kyushu National Museum is a huge mordern architecture.
It is wonderful to look at the  window glasses
reflecting the sky and the mountains.


九州国立博物館は巨大な現代建築で
窓ガラスに空と山が写る姿はとても素晴らしくみえます.


We were surprised that the most popular paintings of the Exhibition were permitted to take photographs.
This is the first experience for us to take photos of paintings in the museum.


This notice board says that 'Photography is permitted in the area marked with a camera sign.

AGAPANTHUS STARTED TO BLOOM IN THE BORDER (ボーダーで咲き始めたアガパンサス）


We are in the middle of rainy season.
It started raining this morning
and Met Office says rain will continue for several days.
Hydrangea is still flowering and is followed by agapanthus.

今は梅雨の真っただ中、
今朝も雨が降り出して
天気予報では数日雨が降り続く予想、
アジサイはまだ咲いていますが、そのあとアガパンサスが続いてきます.


More than a dozen of flower spikes of agapanthus
has just started to flower
on the right side of the border.

十数本のアガパンサスの花が
ボーダーの右側でちょうど咲き始めました.


Behind the agapanthus, chaste tree grows its flower heads.  

アガパンサスの後ろにはセイヨウニンジンボクが花房を伸ばしています.


Salvia guaranitica is blooming, too, behind the agapanthus. 

サルビア・ガラニチカもアガパンサスの後ろで咲いています.


On the left of the arbour seat, 
clematis 'Princess Diana' is continuously flowering. 

アーバーシートの左には
クレマチス プリンセスダイアナ が咲き続けています.


Trumpet vine is vigorously flowering over the echium and catmint. 

エキウムとキャットミントの上ではノウゼンカズラが旺盛に花を咲かせています.
