Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

GARDENING IN THE POTAGER OF LAST WEEKEND (先週末のポタジェの庭仕事)

We usually plant potato at the beginning of September for the second crop, however, we couldn't do it because the typhoon had come.
So, we planted potato last weekend.
Six potatoes (Andes red harvested in June) were planted in two raised beds. They had already sprouted.
The second crop will be harvested early December.

秋のジャガイモ植え付けはいつも九月の初めですが、
今年は台風が先週来たのでできず、先週末に植え付けました.
2つのレイズドベッドに合計6個（6月に収穫したアンデスレッドを）植えましたが、
すでに芽がでていました.収穫は12月の初めです.

Three holes for potatoes, and other three for fertiliser.
3個の穴にジャガイモ、あとの3個は肥料の穴

Asparagus was cut short before the typhoon attack.
Several shoots are growing after that.
So, we set supporting stakes made of rebar.

アスパラガスは台風襲来の前に短く切りましたが
そのあと、何本か枝が出てきています.
それで、鉄筋で作った支柱を立てました.
