Liriope muscari (blue lily turf) is one of the useful ground cover plants. It has a strong habit of growing in sun or shade, with well-balanced, four-sided leaves and attractive spikes of flowers. It bears bluish-purple flower spikes in late summer. The flowers are followed by black berries.
We have a few growing here and there in our garden, and they are now flowering. Some of the earliest flowers have green berries.
