In the bluebell garden, the English bluebells are beginning to sprout and unfurl their leaves. I have been growing bluebells for many years, but whether it is due to the different climate compared to the UK, the soil, or the steep slope—I am not sure—some bulbs fail to thrive and eventually wither away. At this time of year, when they are sprouting, it is easy to see where the bulbs have disappeared, so I make a point of planting pot-grown seedlings in those spots. ブルーベルの庭では、イングリッシュブルーベルが芽吹いて葉を伸ばし始めています。ブルーベルは長年育てていますが、イギリスとは気候が違うためか、土壌の違いのためか、強い傾斜地のためか理由は分かりませんが、うまく育たずに弱って無くなる球根もあります。芽吹いてくるこの時期には、球根が無くなった場所がよく分かるので、そこに芽出ししているポット苗を植え付けるようにしています。この様子を撮影した動画が４年前にイギリスＢＢＣ放送の園芸番組「ガーデナーズワールド」で放映されました。下のユーチューブ動画ではその番組内容も一緒に紹介していますので、どうぞご覧ください。（イギリス国内では著作権の関係で残念ながらみられません）
