Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

PLANTING TULIPS IN THE BLUEBELL GARDEN (ブルーベルの庭にチューリップ植え付け)

Most flowers are over in Bluebell Garden,
and the garden are falling into sleep of Winter.
Bluebell wakes up in March, and bears flowers in April.
Bluebell flowers with other plants, and we added a new member;
tulip 'Marie-Antoinette'.
It is multi-flowering and its hues change over the bloom period from yellow to salmon orange. We expect the tulip and bluebell bloom at the same time.

In order not to damage bluebell bulbs in the ground, holes were made by driving a pointed post
because of clayish heavy earth.
地中のブルーベルの球根を傷めないために、先のとがった杭で穴をあけました.
土が粘土質で固いためです.

ブルーベルの庭では花はほとんど終わり
冬の眠りに落ちていくところです.
ブルーベルは3月に目覚めて、4月に花を咲かせます.
ほかの植物も一緒に花が咲きますが、
今回、新しいメンバーを加えました.
チューリプの「マリーアントワネット」です.
一株から複数の花が咲き、色合いが咲いているうちに変わるチューリップで
黄色からサーモンオレンジに変わります.
ブルーベルと同時にさいてくれるのを期待しています.
