Pink knotweed (Persicaria capitata) is native to the Himalayas and is said to have been introduced to Japan in the Maiji era for rock gardens.
The sunshine and intense heat of this summer didn't stop them from blooming a lot.
It is now in its autumn leaf colour and the flowers are turning white.
