Most of the winter garden work has been done, but the ginger lilies had not yet been pruned. I cut them off at the edge of the ground and put them in the compost bin, but the big ones are too big to put in there as they are, so I have to cut them into small pieces. A small number can be cut with pruning shears, but as there were 50 or so, I decided to use a straw cutter to cut them.
In the bluebell garden with the compost bin, the bluebells are budding and growing leaves. They will flower in about a month.
